Behind every doll I create, there’s a story, a smile, a spark. My journey with crochet began as a gentle moment during my pregnancy—a desire to create something with my own hands for my children. Even today, my daughter is still my biggest source of inspiration. She’s the one who requests new dolls, approves the sketches, picks the colors, and gives her honest opinion before I even begin a new project!
What I love most is watching her play with the creations. Seeing her eyes light up as she discovers a new doll, dresses it up, creates stories around it… that’s pure happiness. And that happiness, I want to pass on to other homes. That’s what drives me to create soft, playful, accessible patterns.
I also take inspiration from what she loves: animated films, the kawaii world, and manga.
These influences shape my cute, colorful style, often with a touch of fantasy. And when I design for babies, I think of my youngest. I create with the hope of sparking his curiosity and dreams, while making sure everything is safe in terms of shapes, textures, and yarn choices.
Each design goes through a phase of testing, trial, and adjustment. It’s rarely perfect on the first try, but it’s always made with love. Every doll that makes its way to you carries a piece of my story, my family, and my desire to share.
My deepest wish is to touch the hearts of those who will hold these creations in their hands: children first, of course, but also adults—parents, relatives, loved ones—those who give or receive a handmade doll crafted from one of my patterns. Because in the end, these little dolls are so much more than yarn and stitches: they’re a moment of tenderness, a smile passed on, a heartfelt intention.
Here are the steps every pattern goes through:
1. Intention: An idea, an emotion, a feeling (often suggested by my daughter or inspired by something joyful and gentle).
2. Sketching and Color Selection: My daughter often approves the first drafts and color palettes.
3. Creation: I dive into prototyping—sometimes it works, sometimes there are funny little flops along the way!
4. Photos and Writing: I take step-by-step photos and carefully write out clear, enjoyable instructions.
5. Translation: Some designs are translated into English to reach even more crafters.
6. Testing: Each pattern is tested by amazing testers—some long-time partners, others who join in for specific projects.
7. Edits and Adjustments: Based on their feedback (clarity, layout, consistency), I tweak the pattern to make it the best it can be.
And when the pattern is finally ready, I release it with the hope that it brings as much joy to those who make it as it brought me while creating it. Thank you for bringing HasleaCrochet to life through your hands and your stories 💛
